The tracker

A plug-in unit about 7 cm long that sits in the palm of your hand. It fits the standard diagnostic port found in almost every van, car and pickup built since the early 2000s, from a Transit or Sprinter to a Caddy or company car.

Fitting: Plugs in by hand in under a minute. Move it to another vehicle just as easily.
Detail: A position at least every 25 metres while moving, plus speed, ignition and vehicle data.
Connection: Built-in mobile data, included in your monthly fee. No SIM to buy and nothing to connect to your phone or Wi-Fi.
Tamper alert: You're notified if it's unplugged.

No setup fee: We post the trackers to you and billing starts when they ship. Plug them in yourself.
Monthly plans: No minimum term. Cancel with 30 days' notice.
Annual plans: A 12-month minimum term, still paid monthly. After that it continues month to month at the same price, with 30 days' notice to cancel.
Returning trackers: Trackers are on loan. When you cancel, send them back within 30 days.

Questions

Will it work with my vehicles?

If your vehicle has a diagnostic (OBD) port, which nearly all petrol and diesel vehicles from the early 2000s onwards do, the tracker will fit. Some data, such as fuel level, depends on what the vehicle reports. Tell us the makes and models and we'll check.

Will it fit our vans?

Almost certainly. Nearly every van built since the early 2000s has a diagnostic port, including the Ford Transit, Transit Custom and Transit Connect, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Mercedes Sprinter, Volkswagen Transporter and Caddy, and Citroën Berlingo. Tell us your models and we'll confirm.

Does it work with electric and hybrid vehicles?

Yes. They have the same diagnostic port, so the tracker records location, trips and driving in the same way. Fuel economy doesn't apply to electric vehicles, and the vehicle data available varies by make.

Is it legal to track my drivers?

Yes, if you have a clear business reason, tell your drivers before you start, and avoid tracking their private lives. Read our guide to tracking your drivers, which includes a template letter.

What happens if I cancel?

On a monthly plan, give us 30 days' notice. Annual plans have a 12-month minimum, then continue month to month at the same price, with the same 30 days' notice. Either way, send the trackers back within 30 days. Your fleet data is deleted within 30 days of your plan ending.

How do I get help?

Email hello@keyring.live. We answer during UK office hours, Monday to Friday.

Does it drain the battery?

It draws very little power. Keyring Live also watches battery health, so you'll hear if a battery is getting weak for any reason.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Every report downloads as a CSV file that opens in Excel or Google Sheets, so you can send mileage to your accountant or keep your own records.

Can drivers see each other's trips?

No. Drivers only see their own trips. Managers see the whole fleet.

What about privacy and GDPR?

Your data is stored on servers in the EU and only people you invite can see it. You decide who has access and can remove anyone at any time. See our privacy policy for details.

Is there an app to download?

No download needed. Keyring Live runs in any modern browser, and on a phone you can add it to the home screen to get notifications.
